The high court Wednesday directed the Superintendent of Police (SP) Central jail to provide ‘all the necessary medical facilities’ to the Amer Hamza, a Huriyat (G) activist, detained under Public Safety act (PSA) since last four months.

According to the KNS court correspondent, Justice Ali Mohammad Magray after hearing the prayers of Advocate Miyan Qayoom and Advocate Nasir Qadri, the council for the petitioner, directed the SP central Jail to provide Hamza all the medical facilities at Srinagar. Hamza had complained of being involved in several ailments including ‘severe back pain‘and ‘uneasiness’ to move from one place to other.

The reports informed further that PSA was slapped against Hamza, a Huriyat (G) leader from North Kashmir’s Bandipora, four months earlier and that he was detained at Udampur jail and was recently shifted to Central Jail Srinagar after he requested that he has to appear in the examination of Dabeer-e-Adab and Daber-e-Fazil.
