SRINAGAR: A headmaster of a government high school in Kishtwar district, has been suspended for allegedly sharing false information on social media, officials said.

The Director of School Education, Ashok Kumar Sharma, based in Jammu, issued an order to this effect.

The order stated that Shah Nawaz, the acting headmaster of Government High School Sarthal in Kishtwar, has been suspended with immediate effect while an investigation is conducted regarding the dissemination of misleading content related to the annual transfer drive.

During the period of suspension, Shah Nawaz will remain assigned to the Directorate. The chief education officer of Kishtwar will initiate an inquiry into the incident and submit a report within a week.
