SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, has issued transfer and posting orders for over 30 doctors across various districts of the Valley. The reshuffle, effective immediately, is intended to address patient care requirements and streamline medical services at key health institutions.
According to an order, consultants and medical officers serving in district and sub-district hospitals, primary health centres, and community health centres have been reassigned new duties in locations including Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag, Baramulla, Shopian, and Budgam.
Dr Ashiq Hussain, a consultant currently posted at District Hospital (DH) Pulwama, has been transferred to District Hospital Kulgam. Similarly, Dr Irfan-ul-Shamas, ENT Consultant at DH Pulwama, has been moved to SDH Chadoora. Dr Muhammad Asif, Medical Consultant at DH Pulwama, has been posted to Emergency Hospital (EH) Qazigund. Dr Anjum Tahseen, another Consultant from DH Pulwama, will now serve at EH Qazigund, and Dr Shakeel Ahmed, Consultant, has also been shifted from DH Pulwama to SDH Bijbehara.
Further, Dr Muhammad Ayub Bhat, a Consultant at DH Pulwama, has been transferred to Community Health Centre (CHC) Keller, while Dr Gulzar Kuchay, Consultant at DH Pulwama, is now posted at EH Qazigund. Dr Sameena Gani, a Medical Officer with a posting at DH Pulwama, has been moved to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Dadsara, and Dr Nadiya Yousuf, Medical Officer, will now serve at EH Qazigund, having been transferred from DH Pulwama.
Continuing with the list, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Dar, Medical Officer at EH Qazigund, has been posted to PHC Delina, and Dr Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Consultant at EH Qazigund, has been transferred to DH Pulwama. Dr Shahnawaz Manzoor, Medical Officer at EH Qazigund, has also been posted to DH Pulwama, while Dr Shazia Majeed, Medical Officer at EH Qazigund, has been assigned to SDH Nagam. Dr Syed Neelofar Jan, Consultant at EH Qazigund, will now report to DH Pulwama, and Dr Shuja Rashid, Medical Officer at EH Qazigund, will also join DH Pulwama.
Additionally, Dr Riyaz Ahmad Dagga, Medical Officer at Block Khan Sahab, has been shifted to CHC Rajpora, while Dr Abid Saleem, Consultant at CHC Keller, has been posted to DH Pulwama. Dr Mohammad Iqbal Wani, Consultant at CHC Rajpora, is now assigned to DH Kulgam.
Among the medical officers transferred, Dr Manzoor A. Dar from Block Qazigund (presently at DH Kulgam) has been posted to DH Pulwama, while Dr Syed Taskeen Rasool, Medical Officer at NTPHC Chewdara, has been assigned to DH Pulwama as well. Dr Abdul Qayoom Rather, Medical Officer at PHC Dadsara, has been posted to DH Pulwama and Dr Tufail Ahmad Dass, Consultant at SDH Bijbehara, has been posted DH Pulwama.
Dr Mohd Ishaq Mir, Medical Officer at DH Pulwama, will now work at EH Qazigund, while Dr Gulshan Akhter, Consultant at Trauma Hospital Bijbehara will now be posted at SDH Dooru. Dr Afshan Qadir, Consultant at SDH Chadoora, is now posted to Trauma Hospital Bijbehara. Dr Bashir Ahmad Challoo, Consultant at SDH Dooru, has been posted to SDH Chadoora, and Dr Shazia Qadir, Medical Officer at SDH Yaripora, is now posted at EH Qazigund.
Dr Shazia Rasheed, Medical Officer at PHC Delina, has been transferred to DH Pulwama, and Dr Zubair Ahmad Wani, Consultant at SDH Yaripora, is now posted at SDH DH Pora. Dr Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, Medical Officer at NTPHC GB Khalil, has been posted to SDH DH Pora, while Dr Imran Malik, Medical Officer at SDH Yaripora is awaiting posting.
The order states that due to the emergent nature of healthcare services, the transferred doctors are deemed to have been relieved of their previous duties and must report to their new postings immediately.
Chief Medical Officers of the concerned districts have been directed to ensure compliance and submit a report confirming the joining of the doctors by August 4, 2025, 1:00 PM.
