Scores of Female Multipurpose Public Health Workers assembled at Press Enclave demanding the release of their salaries pending for the last four months.

The employees said that the non-payment of salaries had taken a toll on their families as they did not have any other source of income.

“We served as the frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and instead of recognising our efforts, we are forced into being in a state of depression,” they said.

They told Kashmir Life that they approached concerned authorities many times but it didn’t help and our salaries are still pending.

The workers demanded the urgent release of their salary so that they can continue to work for their department.

“We request the authorities to consider our issues otherwise we will be forced to hold a protest again,” they said.
