Forces launched intense search operations in a South Kashmir area on Wednesday afternoon after, report said, suspected militants resorted to firing on them.
Instantly, forces, including JKP, army, SOG and CRPF, launched a search operation in several villages after militants opened fire on them in Wandakhpora village.
“They (militants) were holding a meeting when a cordon was being laid to the Wandakhpora village. But they opened fire on the forces and have most probably escaped,” reports added.
Unconfirmed reports reaching here said that 4 militants are trapped in an agriculture field while rest have sneaked out. “Heavy firing is going on in nursery area of Awantipora,” reports added.
A cordon has been laid around Wandakhpora, Goripora and Kunjipora villages, reports further said.
