Heavy snowfall is likely to occur in Kashmir from Feb 23, to 25, MeT sources said on Thursday.

“There will be some relief from adverse weather conditions on Friday and Saturday, but very heavy snowfall is likely to occur on Feb 23, 24 and 25 in the higher reaches, while light snowfall and rainfall will occur in the plains,” they said.

There has been heavy snowfall in Pir Panjal mountain range and in many other places of the higher reaches of the valley since Wednesday.

Snowfall also occurred in Gulmarg and three feet of snow has been accumulated on the ground.

The Srinagar-Leh flight scheduled for today has been cancelled and flights to and from Srinagar to other parts of the country has also been delayed or cancelled, sources said.
