SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Wednesday announced a 15-day winter vacation for courts across the Kashmir division, select districts of Jammu, and the entire Union Territory of Ladakh.
A notification read that the vacation will be observed from January 1 to January 15, 2026, both days inclusive. All district courts in Kashmir Province will remain closed during this period.
In the Jammu division, the vacation will apply to courts in Kishtwar and Doda districts, in addition to courts at Batote, Gool, Banihal and Ukhral in Ramban district, and the court at Bani in Kathua district. All courts functioning in Ladakh will also observe the winter break.
The High Court has directed Principal District and Sessions Judges, as well as Chief Judicial Magistrates in the affected districts, to ensure arrangements for the disposal of urgent criminal matters throughout the vacation period.
