High Court Promotes Two Counsellors as Principal Counsellors in Jammu Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has issued orders adjusting and posting two officers following their promotion to the rank of Principal Counsellors in the District Judiciary of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Order No. 677 of 2026/Psy dated May 7, 2026, issued from the Chief Justice’s Secretariat, Gokila Verma, previously serving as Counsellor in the Family Court, Jammu, has been posted as Principal Counsellor in the same court against an available vacancy following her promotion.

Similarly, Tabasum Farooq, who was serving as Counsellor in the Family Court, Srinagar, has been posted as Principal Counsellor in the same court upon promotion.

The order follows High Court Order No. 589 of 2026/Psy dated April 23, 2026, under which Counsellors were elevated to the posts of Principal Counsellors.

The High Court has directed that the concerned Presiding Officers ensure that the officers are relieved within 15 days from the issuance of the order. It further stated that the Principal District and Sessions Judges shall personally supervise the implementation and report compliance.
