SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh is scheduled to hear next week a petition filed by AAP MLA Mehraj Malik challenging his detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani heard submissions from state counsels Sunil Sethi and Monica Kohli on Thursday. The matter has been listed for further hearing on February 19, Advocate Appu Singh Slathia told reporters after the proceedings.
The court had previously heard part of the arguments advanced by the state counsels last week.
Malik, who represents Doda constituency, was detained under the Public Safety Act in September last year. His detention has been challenged before the High Court by the Aam Aadmi Party.
