High-Level Committee to Frame Plan for Daily Wagers’ Adjustment: CM Omar

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday announced the formation of a high-level committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, to develop a framework for addressing the issues of daily wage workers.

The committee will include officials from various departments and legal advisors to assess the total number of daily wagers and determine feasible legal and financial measures for their adjustment.

Speaking in the Assembly, Abdullah criticised the previous PDP-BJP government. “They  failed to regularise daily wagers despite making promises in their budget speeches. Only 570 persons were regularised under their rule,” he said.

The issue of daily wage workers’ regularisation became a focal point of the budget discussion, with Abdullah assuring that the committee would submit its recommendations within six months.
