On the directions of Syed Ali Geelani, a high-level delegation of Hurriyat Conference (G) comprising G A Gulzar, Bilal Sidiqee, Sheikh Musaib, Molvi Bashir Irfani and Gh Mustafa Wani, visited the grieved family of slain militant Shafat Wani in Wagoora Baramulla, the spokesman said.

The delegation while addressing mourners conveyed condolence message of Syed Ali Geelani, the spokesman in a statement said.

Paying tributes to slain militant, they said the sacrifices of youth are the most precious assets of the ongoing resistance struggle.

The leaders said that “six lakh souls have sacrificed their precious lives to nourish sacred cause of freedom”. “These martyrs sacrificed their today for our tomorrow.”

While pledging to carry their mission to its logical end, the delegation said that resistance leadership and whole nation shares the grief with grieved family.

Hurriyat in its statement condemned forces for their “brute behavior” and use of force against innocent civilians, saying that Indian authorities’ “insensitivity” is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed.

“Instead of taking measures to resolve the long pending issue in its historical perspective, they want to thrust their choice through the barrel of a gun,” they said.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat general secretary Gh Nabi Sumji visited Bone & Joint Hospital in Srinagar and enquired about the well-being of Sumera, injured in Arizal gunfight.
