SRINAGAR: A commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant oufit was killed in an overnight gunfight at Rishipora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.
“Militant Commander of outfit HM Nisar Khanday killed. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 AK 47 rifle recovered. Operation in progress,” Police tweeted
The slain was active since October 2018, officials said.
Two army men and a civilian were Injjured during the encounter and have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
Earlier, a police spokesman said a gunfight broke out between militants and forces at Rishipora village in Anantnag district on Friday late evening.
