Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested an over ground worker (OGW) of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in Qazigind.
Police officials claimed that the OGW was apprehended by army’s 9 RR on May 26 and was handed over to police station Qazigund on Thursday.
The detained OGW has been identified as Shoaib Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Shafi Bhat resident of Charsoo Awantipora.
Ammunition including one pistol, eight rounds and a magazine has been recovered from his possession, police officials at Qazigund police station said.
Meanwhile police has registered an FIR under registration number (132/17) under section 7/25 arms act, police officials said.
