SRINAGAR: A fortnight after their marriage, as celebrity television contestant Sana Khan and Surat-based cleric Mufti Anas, landed in Kashmir on December 6, the honeymoon couple was spotted in Srinagar’s old city on Monday.

During their Srinagar trip, the newly wed couple of actress Sana Khan and her cleric husband were seen shopping in Srinagar’s old city.

A picture viral on social media reveals the duo was out in the otherwise sensitive Nowhatta and Jamia Masjid area for shopping.

Reports reaching Kashmir Life suggest the couple was out in the market for a fair amount of time and did some purchases as well. At certain places, the people gathered to watch the newlywed couples as well.

Earlier, as the couple broke the news of their arrival in Kashmir, it got viral on social media. Later pictures and videos shared went viral as well. In one of the viral videos, it can be seen that Sana Khan is sitting on the balcony looking at the Kashmir plains, when Mufti comes and says, “it is very cold.” After which Sana Khan starts laughing loudly.

Married on November 20, the sudden picture of their marriage surprised the fans. Best known for having appeared in Bigg Boss 6 and Jai Ho, Sana, before her marriage announced her retirement from the showbiz industry. She reasoned her decision with an aim “to spend her life in the service of humanity and following the orders of her ‘creator’. She also said she has been pondering about her purpose in life and what happens to a person after death.

The 33-year-old actor, Sana featured in many Hindi and regional language films. She made her debut in Bollywood with Yehi Hai High Society in 2005 and went on to star in movies like Halla Bol, Jai Ho, Wajah Tum Ho and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. She also participated in reality shows Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7, Box Cricket League 2, Kitchen Champion 5 among others.

Born and raised in Mumbai, her father is a Malayali Muslim from Kerala while her mother hails from Mumbai.

In 2007, Sana stoked controversy in her TV commercial for men’s innerwear brand. Later, it was banned by the government on the grounds of sexual profanity. Later, the company re-hired the actress, shot a sequel to that commercial with a different theme, and released it in February 2008.
