SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness generally hot and humid conditions over the coming days, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers forecast at scattered places and the possibility of intense localised showers triggering flash floods, mudslides and landslides, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said.
According to the latest forecast, brief spells of rain and thundershowers are likely during the early morning and afternoon hours from August 26 to 28.
Between August 29 and 31, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected at scattered to many places. Brief spells of intense rainfall may occur during the early morning and afternoon hours.
The weather is likely to remain generally hot and humid on September 1 and 2, with isolated areas receiving brief spells of rain and thundershowers, mainly during the early morning and afternoon.
From September 3 to 5, brief spells of rain and thundershowers are expected at isolated places, while generally hot and humid conditions are likely to continue.
The Meteorological Centre cautioned that intense showers over small, localised areas could lead to flash floods, mudslides and landslides, particularly in vulnerable locations.
Farmers have been advised to continue harvesting and other agricultural activities while taking local weather conditions into account.
