House collapse kills 11-year-old boy killed in KIshtwar, 4 other injured

In a tragic incident at Kishtwar District, 11-year-old minor boy was killed while other four family members were injured after a tree fell on their house in the night.

The reports from the area suggest that due to wind storm and heavy rainfall, the huge Cedar tree fell on the mud house of a Gujjar Noor Mahi Kohli,a  resident of Devigol in Village Patnazi of Bhunzwah Tehsil some 60 KM from Kishtwar at around 12:45 am.

The family at the time of incident was in deep sleep as a result of which five of the family members were trapped badly inside the damaged muddy house.
Soon after the incident, the cries resonated around and this prompted villagers to rush to the spot along with the local police to rescue the trapped.

During the course of the rescue operation, all the occupants were brought out of the damaged house and among them an eleven-year-old boy Mohammad Yaseen was declared as dead.
SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Kumar while confirming the incident said that all the occupants safely manage to come out of the debris of the house and expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of life in this tragic incident. He said that no report of any untoward incident has so far received from any other part of the Kishtwar District. He said that Police is reviewing the situation on hourly bases in far flung areas of the district and said that people has been advised to remain in door due to advisory of heavy rain and snowfall that could trigger landslides and snow avalanche.
