The extensive online campaign highlighting the autumnal splendour, featuring Chinar trees, is attracting tourists from all over the world to experience this season in Kashmir.

“I have travelled to many places worldwide, but the beauty of Kashmir in autumn is unparalleled. The crimson and gold hues are absolutely enchanting,” remarked Pooja Gupta, a tourist from Maharashtra.

Currently, the valley’s renowned Chinar trees and rolling meadows have transformed into a canvas of reds, oranges, and gold, creating a visual masterpiece that draws nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.

Visitors from various corners of the world are flocking to Kashmir to witness this annual spectacle. Many, especially photographers and Instagram influencers, are capturing the vivid scenery and sharing it with their followers on social media platforms, thrusting the valley into the limelight as a top autumn destination.

“I have been taking photos non-stop; every frame is like a painting. Each of my photos or reels garners thousands of views and likes on social media. What motivated me to visit Kashmir is the autumnal beauty I have seen in pictures and videos on social media,” stated Nawaz Ahmad, a social media influencer from Goa.

Tour operators, recognizing the tourists’ interest, have added autumn walks to their packages this season.

“The autumn season is a boon for us. It’s wonderful to see tourists appreciating Kashmir’s natural beauty. We take tourists to Mughal Gardens and Naseem Bagh to show them the real colours of autumn in Kashmir. Last year, tourists were also taken to Dachigam, which looks spectacular in autumn,” explained Umar Ahmad, a travel agent.

The Kashmir tourism department has actively promoted the region as an autumn destination. Through its social media channels, the department shares pictures that receive a significant response from people around the world.

Meanwhile, tourism industry players are hopeful for a further surge in tourist arrivals in November when autumn will be at its peak in the valley.

“In November, it’s Diwali holidays, and we anticipate a further increase in tourist arrivals. Travel agents have made all the arrangements to ensure that guests’ stays in Kashmir are adventurous and full of bliss,” said Javaid Ahmad Khan, another travel agent. (KNO)
