SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President, Omar Abdullah, reiterated the party’s commitment to safeguarding the interests, unique character, and dignity of the people of JK during back-to-back election rallies in Sumbal Sonawari and Inderkote Bandipore.
These rallies were organised by Incharge Constituencies Sonawari and Bandipora, Hilal Akbar Lone, and Adv Nazir Malik, respectively.
Omar Abdullah led an impressive roadshow in Sumbal, drawing thousands of participants who expressed their support and affection. The roadshows extended to Nowgam, Indrakot, and Harinara, witnessing significant public turnout.
In his address, Omar Abdullah urged the people to resist anti-Kashmir forces and emphasised the party’s commitment to a peaceful and democratic struggle for the restoration of democratic rights, echoing the legacy of his grandfather, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
Omar Abdullah reaffirmed the National Conference’s stance against violence, emphasising that guns are not the solution to any issue. He recounted instances where the party leadership discouraged resorting to arms, advocating for the power of democratic processes over violence. Abdullah called for collective efforts to safeguard the region’s future through active participation in the electoral process.
Addressing the public, Omar Abdullah pointed out concerted efforts by various entities to weaken the National Conference and manipulate electoral outcomes. He urged the citizens to counter these external influences by exercising their voting rights effectively. Abdullah emphasized the party’s broader vision of addressing issues beyond individual cases, including the release and repatriation of imprisoned youths.
