SRINAGAR: A joint team of forces have busted a hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a forest area of Tarabal near Govind Nalla in Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Quoting a police official news agency KDC reported that on specific inputs received by Police a team of Jammu and Kashmir Police along 06 Maratha of Indian Army have busted a hideout on specific inputs in Gurez area.
He said that eleven AK-47 magazines, 358 rounds of AK-47, 212 rounds of Pistol and two pouches besides other items were recovered from the hideout.
Infiltration bid cannot be ruled out in this case, he said.
In this connection, a case is being registered and further investigation has been set into motion.
Pertinently, the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) had recently conducted a review meeting regarding alertness ahead of August 15.
