SRINAGAR: The Army announced on Friday that a substantial cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered in the Machil sector of northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

In a tweet, the Army reported the recovery of a significant stockpile of arms and ammunition during a joint operation involving the Army, J&K Police, and BSF.

“The Indian Army, in collaboration with @BSF_Kashmir and @JmuKmrPolice, launched a joint operation in the #Machhal Sector of #Kupwara from 15-18 Aug ’23, based on intelligence inputs from various agencies indicating the likely presence of a cache of warlike stores,” the Army tweeted.

Furthermore, the Army provided additional information, stating, “A substantial cache of arms and ammunition, including 5 AK Rifles, 7 Pistols, 4 Hand Grenades, and other incriminating materials, has been successfully recovered.”
