The two factions of Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani and Shabir Ahmad Shah have decided to “work in coordination” to “counter Indian designs” aimed at “undermining the Kashmiris’ Liberation movement”.

Hurriyat Conference (JK) led by Shah was formed few months back after differences with Mirwaiz led group and Shah became deep. Later Shah faced expulsion from Hurriyat (M). Hurriyat (JK) includes separatist leaders Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Mushtaq-Ul-Islam besides Shabir Shah.

Sources told Kashmir Life that many meetings are being held between Hurriyat (JK) and Hurriyat (G) leaders which are being attended by the representatives from the two forums.

“The leaders decided to carry on freedom struggle with regular mutual coordination,” sources privy to these meetings informed Kashmir Life adding, “The coordination has not yet been announced formally but yes, the meetings in this regard are going on.”

To start with, sources said, the leaders from both the factions on Monday held a joint prayer meeting at Eid Gah to remember late Hurriyat leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
