SRINAGAR

Central Relief Committee of Hurriyat Conference (G) Tuesday held its routine meeting under the chairmanship of Syed Ali Geelani which was besides others attended by Peer Saifullah, Altaf Ahamad Shah and Mohammad Yousuf Mujahid and district president Srinagar Raja Mehraj-ud-din.

In a statement a spokesman of the Hurriyat (G) said Peer Saifullah informed the meeting about the stock position and survey reports and gave details of the relief works in different areas. “Geelani said that the cold season has although practically started here so the people now need warm cloths and bedding more than the ration and other eatables. He also issued instructions regarding the arrangement of these things and said that these things should be immediately made available for the deserving people,” he said.

Quoting Geelani, the spokesman said that the state government has relaxed after giving Rs 75 thousand cheques to the people who have lost their houses in the recent floods “as if its responsibility has ended and now the people doesn’t need anything more.”

“The state administration is totally indifferent towards the difficulties of the people who are suffering due to the non-availability of warm cloths and beddings. He said that the need of the hour is to reach to more and more people and provide them with help and the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat will not compromise in fulfilling its responsibility in this regard,” he said.

The chairman Central Relief Committee once again appealed the people not to come at the Hyderpora office for any relief material because our activists and cadres are personally visiting the affected localities and identify the deserving people and then reach out to them with the available relief material.
