Hurriyat Conference (g) Tuesday expressed deep concern over the continuous detention of “pro-freedom” leaders and activists.
The statement said that more than six hundred innocent citizens were slapped “infamous” PSA and detained in different jails and moreover three hundred more youth are detained in police lockups.
“They are being subjected to severe torture and vengeance.”
While strongly criticising the CM Mehbooba Mufti led administration the statement said that practically it is non-existent and all decisions are taken in power corridors in Delhi and state administration is “incompetent” to such an extent that it can’t release even a single detainee.
Ridiculing the statement of CM Mehbooba Mufti, wherein she said that people bailed out by courts won’t be re-arrested, the statement said it proved a hoax as those bailed out by court are re-arrested and detained in police stations.
“Police arrested people and activists without taking into consideration their age and gender and even elderly and minors were detained and PSA slapped against them.”
The statement further said that the youth were tortured in police stations and jail authorities too are apathetic towards them.
