Expressing serious concern over the arrests made by government forces, Hurriyat (G) Conference General Secretary Haji Gh Nabi Sumji cautioned state authorities to end unleashing a “reign of terror” in the Valley.

The spokesman in a statement said that repressive and suppressive measures won’t force us to submission and despite these arbitrary measures, detentions, humiliations and denying political space; we will pursue our cherished mission.

He in his statement while referring to fresh arrest spree and night raids in south Kashmir and particularly in district Islamabad, said that youth including Shabir Ahmad Rather (Mehmood Abad ) Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh ( Veri Nag), Aijaz Ahmad Malik (Qamar Shah Abad Islam Abad) have been arrested and PSA slapped against them. “While Kashmir is mourning the worst-ever humanitarian crises, the government has furthered the terror through arrest spree being undertaken by police,” Sumji said in a statement.

Sumji cautioned the government that through use of force, things will only worsen.  Kashmir is facing worst ever rights abuse and the international community must take note of this and help and rescue subjugated people of Jammu Kashmir in their struggle for the right to self-determination,” he said.
