Police on Monday shifted Hurriyat Conference (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar to district jail Kupwara. Akbar was arrested in the last week of October and was lodged in police station Parimpora.

“Ayaz Akbar was shifted to Kupwara jail after more than ten days of his arrest,” sources said.

Two more Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activists were also shifted to the same jail, they said adding both of them were arrested during last two days.

Sources said that they include Ghulam Mustafa and Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh, both residents of HMT area in the city outskirts.

Worth to mention police have arrested many separatist leaders and activists ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.
