SRINAGAR

Hurriyat Conference (JK) leaders were Thursday arrested as and when the Seminar ended in a local hotel at Lal Chowk, Srinagar.

Those who were arrested included, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and others.

As soon as the Seminar organized by Hurriyat (JK) ended and the participants started leaving the venue, a large contingent of police personnel stopped Shah and others at the gate of the hotel and bundled them in a police vehicle.

The Hurriyat (JK) supporters raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans on the occasion.

Police sources told Kashmir Life that all the arrested people were lodged in Police station Kothibagh.

A daylong Seminar was organized by Hurriyat (JK) on the eve of anniversaries of late Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and late Mohammd Afzal Guru, who were hanged in Tihar jail in 1984 and 2013 respectively.
