SRINAGAR

Expressing concern over the ‘callousness’ of government regarding immense problems faced by the people in view of the heavy snowfall across the state, Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman Wednesday said that administration has failed on all levels and was showing no interest in providing succor to the people in these challenging times.

Stressing that people have been left alone to fend themselves, the spokesman said the electricity, water and other services have been snapped and there is immense shortage of day to day food items. He said regrettably the situation was same in villages and urban areas of the state.

The spokesman said the ‘so called’ members of pro-Indian parties who claim to be representatives of people are found to be nowhere, adding, they were busy in election politics and making political alliances. He said the callous attitude of the representatives of pro-Indian parties aptly describes that they were not remotely concerned about the problems of people other than to exploit Kashmiris politically and economically so as to stick to the seat of power.

Hurriyat has appealed people to show unity and cooperation in these hours of emergency. The spokesman said people should help each other to alleviate the existing problems they are facing
