After labouring oxygen, octogenarian Hurriyat Conference chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani, is “stable” now.

Son of Geelani, Prof Naseem Geelani told Kashmir Life Sunday evening that the oxygen support system has been stopped and the Hurriyat patriarch showed improvement in his health.

“Geelani Sahab is a chronic chest disease patient. Last night he complained of severe breathlessness and we had to call doctor around 4 AM and immediately he was put on oxygen,” Naseem said.

Later in the day some of the cardiologist doctors visited Geelani for the check up, he said, “and he responded positively to the medication.”

“He is suffering from chest congestion and sometimes it results in severe breathlessness, however, Geelani Sahab is fine now,” he said, “Oxygen supply has been removed but Nebulization is being continued.”

Naseem further said, “unlike past some days, Geelani Sahab is now talking normally.”
