Kashmir’s pro-freedom camp here has been invited by the Pakistan High Commissioner to New Delhi to attend Iftaar party scheduled to be arranged on July 19.

According to the reports received by KNS, the separatist camp here has been requested to attend the party on July 19- the 20th day of holy Ramadan. Details maintained further that Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Hurriyat (M) senior leader Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Mohammad Yasin Malik, Hurriyat (JK) senior Shabir Shah, Peoples’ Conference chief Bilal Gani  Lone, Agha Syed Hassan,  besides several others have been sent the invitation cards.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) confirmed his non participation because of his personal engagements. “We have already convened a meeting tomorrow with regard to July 13 programme and we will be discussing the Pakistan High Commission invitation also.  We will nominate a delegation that will attend the Iftaar party,” he added.

The invitation has been extended on behalf of Abdul Basit, High Commissioner for Islamic Republic of Pakistan for Iftaar Dinner on Saturday July 19 embassy’s office.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) spokesperson Ayaz Akbar said that his amalgam is yet to decide whether to attend the function or not. “Though we believe the function is not of the much political importance but any decision whether to attend or not to attend will be taken by the Geelani sahib himself.”
