Hurriyat Conference (m) has condemned the continuous house arrest of its chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq stating that the government was following policy of revenge against the Mirwaiz.
A spokesman of the amalgam, in a statement, termed the house detention of Mirwaiz as highly undemocratic stating that caging Mirwaiz , has resulted in problems for general public who are not allowed to meet him as Mirwaiz is not only a political but also a religious leader and has many commitments on social front as well.
The spokesman said that it is an irony that Mirwaiz is being caged every now and then without any rhyme or reason. He said it is the deliberate policy of the government to keep Mirwaiz away from his people.
