Two more bodies were recovered near the crash site of an Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper at Garend Kalan in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday, police officials told GNS, taking the death toll to seven.

A civilian Kifayat Ahmad Ganaie (30) son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie and two IAF pilots were earlier killed due to the crash.

A police officer also confirmed the recovery of two more bodies and said that the death toll mounted to seven so far including two pilots and one civilian.

Regarding the three more bodies, the official said that the identities and whether the slain are civilians or IAF personnel are being ascertained.

The official earlier said that IAF’s  MI 17  chopper crashed at around 10:40 am, some 7 kilometres away from Budgam town. (GNS)
