SRINAGAR: A special court on Wednesday issued a production warrant against Yasin Malik in a case related to the killing of four Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel. The incident is from the 1990s.

According to reports appearing in the media, CBI lawyer Monika Kohli informed, “TADA court today issued a production warrant for Yasin Malik, next date of hearing is December 22”.

The hearing in the case has been adjourned till December 22.

Yasin Malik, who is serving life imprisonment in Tihar Jail in a funding case, is an accused in this case along with others.

Yasin Malik was sentenced to life imprisonment twice. The NIA had sought the death penalty for the separatist leader who was convicted on May 19 this year.

On January 25, 1990, IAF personnel killing case, the court already framed charges against Malik, Ali Mohammed Mir, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi alias Mustafa, Javed Ahmed Mir, Showkat Bakshi, Javed Ahmed Zargar and Nanaji in March 2020. The case was invested by CBI and the charge sheet was filed in August 1990. The CBI had found that in the shooting 40 persons including a lady, were injured. Of them, four IAF personnel were killed.
