SRINAGAR: In the UPSC civil services list that was declared on Friday, Jammu and Kashmir has got more than seven candidates at various ranks. The highest rank is with Fazlul Haseeb Pir who is No 36.

“Almost seven are confirmed but I think it must go to around 10, if not more,” one civil services trainer, who is aware of the developments, said. “It normally takes a day to get the exact count.”

Pir is son of Dr Farooq Pir, who is the Director (Academics) in the Board of School Education.

The next rank is that of Abhishek Shmara who is at rank 69. He is a junior Engineer (civil) at Jammu & Kashmir Irrigation & Flood Control Department. He is son of Suresh Sharma of Sarkoot in Kishtwar.

“Congratulations to all those who made it to the list and for those who haven’t made this, I have been there, twice, and I know, it’s very difficult,” Sharma wrote on his wall. “Now, what you need to do is tomorrow onwards till prelims, just focus on pre and don’t waste time in repenting. After the Mark sheet comes, analyse and improvise. That’s the secret. Keep on working and there is a thing called LUCK. Have patience.”

Inabat Khaliq, from Kashmir, is at rank 378.

Amir Bashir is at rank 843.

Engineer Atul Choudhary is at rank 896.

Mohammad Farooq Choudhary is at rank 939.

Vivek Bhagat is listed at rank 967.

“There are certain names which seem to from Kashmir but I am unsure right now,” one KAS officer said. “Let us wait a bit more.” These names are Syed Imran Masoodi (198), Haris Rasheed (487), Sudarshan Bhat (434) and a few more.
