SRINAGAR: Referring to the recent 445th Council Meeting held in Pahalgam, the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) CA Charanjot Singh Nanda Friday said their visit with families and friends sends a strong message of hope and resilience for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“At Pahalgam, our presence with families and friends sends a message of hope and resilience to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Nanda said while addressing a press conference in Srinagar.
He added that the visit aimed to demonstrate confidence, unity and a return to normalcy in the valley.
Nanda highlighted ICAI’s initiatives to boost local economies, including research presentations and support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
He also shared plans to establish a Centre of Excellence in Jammu and Kashmir, focused on skill development, research and capacity building for ICAI members and students, aligning with the government’s developmental goals.
“The initiative will support growth and provide opportunities for learning and innovation for professionals in the region,” he said.
About ICAI, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) was set up by an Act of Parliament under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 for the regulation and development of the profession of Chartered Accountancy in India. (KNO)
