Condemning the killings in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) said in a statement that India has decided to kill each and every freedom loving Kashmiri. This is the reason that every time unarmed protesters are being showered with bullets and pellets.
The spokesman said injuries of Shopian tragedy were still afresh in the minds of people the men in uniform killed more youth in Khudwani Kulgam, adding that government forces also injured the protesters during the clashes.
Firing bullets and pellets on protesters are a sheer arrogance of power of government, however, New Delhi must have some lessons from the situation. The way unarmed people hit the streets and take bullets and pellets on their chests in order to save militants near encounter sites is writing on the wall for the government.
The spokesman added that government must know that they can kill Kashmiris but not their freedom aspirations. If New Delhi sincerely wants an end to the bloodshed they must accept that Jammu Kashmir is a disputed territory whose people are yet to decide their political future. This only can satisfy the people of Kashmir and pave way for a final resolution of the long-pending dispute.
JKDFP expressed concern and said that international community is not bothered by the killings and other human rights violations by forces in Kashmir. It expressed shock over the killing of Sharjeel Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad, Fazil Illahi and Aijaz Ahmad Pala by the men in uniform. The party also expressed solidarity and sympathy with the families of the slain youth. JKDFP paid rich and glowing tributes to those killed in Khudwani and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
