Senior Kashmiri Journalist and Strategic Affairs editor of Mumbai based English daily, DNA, Iftikhar Gillani has bagged this year’s “Shah Waliyullah Muhaddis Dehlvi” award for his outstanding contribution in journalism.
The award is given annually by Institute of Objective Studies Delhi and carries cash reward of Rs 1 lac and a memento.
This year the Institute chose Gilani who is a senior journalist and has previously been Bureau Chief of daily Kashmir Times, The Nation, The Daily Times.
Gilani hails from Sopore in Baramulla district and has been based in Delhi for last over 26 years.
