IGP Kashmir Chairs Joint Security Review Meeting in Srinagar

   

SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V K Birdi, chaired a high-level joint security review meeting on Saturday at Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar to assess the prevailing security situation in the Valley.

The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Police, Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and intelligence agencies. Key participants included IG BSF FTR Kashmir, IG CRPF KOS and Srinagar, DD IB Srinagar, DIGs of SSB, RPF, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, and Traffic Kashmir, along with senior officials from the Army’s 15 Corps, district police, and civil administration. Several other officers, including DIG CISF and district SSPs, joined the meeting virtually.

Officials briefed the IGP on the overall security landscape, with discussions focused on intelligence inputs, threat perception, preparedness for emergencies, and improved coordination among agencies. The IGP stressed the importance of strengthening synergy among forces to ensure timely information sharing and efficient joint responses.
