SRINAGAR :Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone Sujit Kumar on Thursday reviewed the security and crime situation in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district during a meeting with senior police officers.
Kumar chaired the security and crime review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag, which was attended by DIG South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo, SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure and other senior officers of the district.
During the meeting, the IGP took stock of the overall security situation and crime scenario in the district, besides reviewing security arrangements, crime prevention measures, investigation of cases and ongoing police operations.
He stressed the need to further strengthen the security grid and maintain close coordination among field formations, while ensuring timely and effective action against criminal and anti-social elements.
The IGP also called for enhanced preventive measures and heightened vigilance to ensure peace and security in the district.
Senior officers briefed Kumar on the prevailing security and crime situation and the measures being undertaken to strengthen policing and public safety in Anantnag.
