SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Sujit Kumar, IPS, called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar on Tuesday following his recent assumption of charge as the police chief of the Kashmir zone.
The meeting was held as a courtesy call after Kumar took charge of his new assignment.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the officer for a successful tenure.
Kumar’s meeting with the Chief Minister comes shortly after his appointment to the key post, which carries responsibility for overseeing policing in the Kashmir Valley.
The courtesy meeting also marked Kumar’s interaction with the head of the elected government following his assumption of charge.
