IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar IPS on Sunday visited Chattipadshahi Gurduwara Rainawari and reviewed the arrangements in place for the devotees in view of the Gurupurab celebrations.
A police spokesman said that IGP Kashmir was accompanied by DIG CKR V.K Birdhi, SSP Srinagar, SP North and other senior officers from the department.
IGP Kashmir went around the area and took stock of various amenities and facilities available for the devotees. He also met with the caretakers and members of Gurduwara Committee, said the spokesman.
IGP assured them of all possible assistance and help and stressed that police is committed towards the welfare of citizens, he said.
IGP Kashmir directed the officials to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place for the convenience of devotees. He also urged the officials to remain available for the assistance of visiting devotees, he added.
Community members have thanked police for the arrangements, said a police spokesman in a statement.
