While emphasizing upon senior officers of the district, IGP emphasized that crime prevention, detection and prosecution should be on equal priorities, like law and order and anti militancy work, so that peace and security can be offered to society on the whole. “We should assess the needs of the society and provide the services accordingly. Ameliorating the grievances of the public should be taken up expeditiously,” Mir said.

IGP stressed upon the need for better policing and improving the police-public relations.

He said that better police public relations is the back bone of professional policing that is requisite for delivering better services to the public. “There is a great scope for improving the behavior of police vis a vis the members of public and conceded that there is a need for attitudinal change in police,” he said adding that better police public relation can be garnered by adapting the soft skills in a better way.

Earlier some civil society members put forth some suggestions. The IGP said that the suggestions will be considered.
