SRINAGAR: In a momentous occasion marked by the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) unveiled its new campus in Jagti, signalling a remarkable stride towards global excellence in management education and societal transformation.

IIM Jammu Jagti (Academic Block) is spread over 200 acres of land and cost Rs 501 crore. It was thrown open in February 2024.

Established in 2016 under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, IIM Jammu has swiftly ascended the ranks, driven by its unwavering commitment to nurturing leaders, fostering innovation, and empowering communities. From its humble beginnings with a mere 47 students, the institute has burgeoned into a bustling hub of over 1200 students across various programmes.

The new campus, spanning 200 acres and constructed at a project cost of Rs 500.91 crores, epitomises IIM Jammu’s dedication to providing world-class infrastructure conducive to holistic student development. Boasting state-of-the-art facilities, including smart classrooms and the Nalanda modern library, the campus sets the stage for academic pursuit and innovation.

Prof BS Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, emphasised the institute’s commitment to grooming leaders and entrepreneurs, transcending from job seekers to job creators through practical exposure and industry collaborations. Notably, despite being the youngest among its counterparts, IIM Jammu has earned accolades, ranking 15th overall among all IIMs in the NIRF Rankings 2023.
