Baramulla lawmaker Javed Baig on Monday told health minister to suggest his new director to change. Otherwise, he said he will “make his tenure difficult”.
While intervening in the debate on health grants, Baig said that the director was “used to” taking a politician’s son along with while visiting hospitals.
Notably, Saleem Ur Rehman, a few days ago joined back as Director Health Services Kashmir.
He said that this was being done at the cost of the local representatives. He said that in Baramulla never ever did the director try to invite the local MP or the MLA.
“I do not know how he returned (to the post after being shifted) but I want you (health minister) to tell him that he must change,” Baig said, “if you do not change. I want to assure you, I will make your tenure difficult.”
This led to intervention from NC leader Ali Mohammad Sagar who told Baig to avoid attaching an official who cannot represent himself in the house.
