Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tariq Naik said that no construction will be permitted without proper documentation and approvals as per the master plan. He said several violators have already been identified and assured that strict legal action would follow.

“Nobody is above the law. Those responsible for unauthorised constructions will be taught a lesson in the coming days,” Naik said.

He emphasised that there is a proper legal procedure for unsealing any property that was earlier sealed. “No individual has the authority to unseal structures on their own. Such actions constitute a clear violation of the law,” he added.

Naik further said the GDA’s enforcement wing is acting on multiple complaints and monitoring construction activities closely. He confirmed that several sites have already been visited, illegal activities halted, and legal action initiated.

The CEO reiterated that construction in areas including Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Qazipora, and Drung will only be allowed in accordance with the official master plan and proper permissions.

He warned that the enforcement drive will intensify in the coming days and all those violating regulations will face serious consequences. (KNO)
