A team of district administration Samba demolished several shops constructed on 4 Kanal land of Auqaf Islamia at village Keranwali of tehsil Ramgarh.

The anti-encroachment drive was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan on land bearing khasra no. 473/200 belonging to Auqaf Islamia, the spokesman said.

As per revenue department officials, some locals had illegally occupied the land and raised illegal structures (shops) on it. “Despite strong opposition by the encroachers during the eviction drive, the team of revenue department with the help of local Police pressed JCB into action and demolished all the illegal pacca structures and handed over the retrieved land to the representatives of Auqaf department,” they said.

The fencing of the land was also raised around the retrieved land on the spot, informed the revenue official.

The anti-encroachment drive was carried out by the revenue team headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba, Vikas Gupta and comprising Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur, Vijay Sharma and tehsildar Ramgarh. The police contingent was led by SDPO Vijaypur, Baljit Singh and SHO Ramgarh. The administrator Auqaf Islamia Saleem Alam was also present on the spot.
