The district administration Srinagar has advised the general public, especially those residing on the left and right banks of River Jhelum, its tributaries and Nallahs, and the upper reaches of Tehsil North and Panthachowk, to refrain from venturing in and around these water bodies.

The advisory aims to ensure the safety of residents during this period of adverse weather conditions. The Tehsildars of Tehsil North and Panthachowk are informed to activate the zonal committees of upper reaches in case of flash floods, landslides, and cloudbursts, and to monitor the situation regularly until the weather improves.

“Further, tourists, local Shikara Wallas, sand miners, and those using boat crossing points at Dal Lake, River Jhelum, and other water bodies are advised not to attempt crossing without verifying the condition and situation of these water bodies. The general public can contact the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Srinagar at +911942502254 and Police Control Room Srinagar at 9419411619/01942477567 for any information,” it further reads.
