More than 98 percent children in the age group 1-5 have been administered oral Polio Immunization Vaccine during the immunization program held last week.

The information was given by State Immunization Officer Kashmir, Dr Yangthan Dolma during a meeting with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asghar Samoon on Thursday.

The officer said that 10, 31,903 children were immunized during the three day campaign against targeted 10, 48,825 children, an official spokesperson said this evening.

Dr Dolma said despite rumours, 9, 40,918 children were administered oral vaccines whereas about 90,985 children were immunized during door to door campaign.
