After chief minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti told a high level security meet to avoid collateral damage during anti-militancy operations, the top state cop asserted in another meeting that the directions shall be followed in letter and spirit.
Sources said that soon after CM Mehbooba left the venue, the state director general of police chaired, K Rajendra, chaired a meeting of IGPs, SSPs and SPs at SKICC.
“The SSPs were told in clear terms that they should take care of concerns of their respective area,” sources who attended the meeting said. “DGP asserted that the directions passed by CM Mehbooba viz-a-viz collateral damage should be implemented.”
Ms Mehbooba Mufti chaired her maiden Kashmir division high level official meet at SKICC Saturday afternoon.
The district top cops detailed their initiatives and challenges in the meeting, sources said.
