SRINAGAR: The frightening Covid19 scourge has started taking a toll on the health workers; Jammu and Kashmir lost three doctors in a single day in the Pir Panchal region.

Warrior Coffins Are Usually Heavy: The funeral of Dr M Ashraf Mir, who was an active Covid-19 warrior for three months, contracted the infection on duty. He died on August 9, 2020, at SKIMS.

These included Tahir Haroon Mirza, 51, who was living and posted in Jammu, around Gandhi Nagar. He was infected at his place of posting at Emergency hospital Chowki Choura in Akhnoor. As his condition was critical, he was shifted to Command Hospital Udhampur, where he died. His infection was detected only 24 hours before his death.

Another doctor who lost his battle against Covid19 was Dr Mohammad Akram Malik. Former Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, Dr Malik was a resident of Surankote in Poonch. Reports said died of Coronavirus at Narayana Hospital Katra where his wife, also a Covid19 case, is in a critical state.

Dr Busharat Hussain Shah of Mendhar in Poonch district has also died of Covid19. He was an Indian System of Medicines (ISM) practitioner.

Kashmir lost a dedicated Health Care Worker Mohammad Ramzan of Ganderbal to Covid19 yesterday.
