The Peoples Democratic Party suffered another setback on Saturday after senior leader and former minister Javeed Mustafa Mir resigned from the party.

Javaid Mustafa Mir

Mir was a very important member of the PDP who fought three elections on the party ticket from Chadoora. He also served in the cabinet of ministers.

“I have tendered my resignation from the basic membership of the party,” Mir told Kashmir Life over the phone.

With Mir’s resign, the PDP has lost at least a dozen leaders so far. These include Dr Haseeb A Drabu, Syed Basharat Bukhari, Imran Raza Ansari, Abid Ansari, Mohammad Abbas Wani, Bakir Rizvi and others.
